Reading
Do I need an account to read?
No. Every published piece is free to read without signing in. Accounts exist only for invited writers and the site’s administrators.
How do I follow a writer?
With RSS. Every blog has its own feed at /handle/feed.xml, linked from the writer’s page. Add that address to any feed reader. The whole site has a feed too, at /feed.xml.
What is a topic page?
Writers tag their pieces. Each tag has a topic page at /topic/name/ that gathers tagged pieces from every writer on the site, newest first.
Will the site work on my phone?
Yes. Every page is plain HTML and CSS, designed for small screens as well as large ones, and it works without JavaScript.
Comments
How do I leave a comment?
Scroll to the end of a piece, type a name and your comment, and send it. No account is needed and we never ask for an email address.
Why can’t I see my comment yet?
Comments from readers are held for review, and a moderator reads each one before it is published. Comments that are never approved are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Can I have a comment removed?
Yes. Since there is no reader account to edit from, ask us: use the contact page, choose Privacy request, and tell us the piece and the name you used.
Writing here
How do I get a blog on FullySky?
Blogs are by invitation only; there is no public sign-up. If you would like to write here, send a message through the contact page with the topic Writing here and tell us what you write about. We read every request but cannot promise an invitation.
What comes with a blog?
- A page with your portrait, short bio and an optional website link
- An introduction you write yourself
- Sections you name, cover images, tags and contents on long pieces
- Your own RSS feed
The features page has the full list.
Who owns what I publish?
You do. Publishing gives the site permission to host, display and distribute your work, for example through RSS. You can ask us to remove a piece, or your whole blog, whenever you like.
Can I link to my own website?
Yes. Your blog can show a link to your website, and links inside your pieces are ordinary links. Linking to your sources is encouraged.
Reports and personal data
How do I report a piece or a comment?
Go to the contact page and choose Report a post or comment. Include the link and a sentence about the problem. If your own work was copied, choose Copyright instead.
How do I ask about my data?
Choose Privacy request on the contact page. You can ask what we hold about you or ask us to delete it. The privacy policy explains what we collect and for how long.
Is there an email address or phone number?
No. The contact page is the only way to reach the FullySky team. Messages arrive in the site’s own inbox and we answer by email when a reply is needed.
